You will never go hungry in El Nido Town. It is filled with restuarants, bars and clubs. The streets are filled with tourists and merchants from day til night. We stumbled upon Trattoria Altrove Express which is just near our hotel , Rainforest Beachfront, while looking for a place to have breakfast before the tours. They only had panini available during the morning which we ordered . We saw that they have a brick oven and asked if they have pizza too but it’s not available during mornings.
We went back the same night for dinner but there were already tourists in line waiting to be seated. They even placed high tables in the middle of the street to accommodate those having drinks while waiting. Apparently, Trattoria is one of the best restaurants in El Nido and is known for their Italian pizza and pastas. We were told that we can try in the main Trattoria Altrove restaurant, just a few meters away, but the line here for waiting was even longer.
The main Trattoria Altrove Restaurant is bigger and has wider selection in the menu. The Trattoria Altrove Express near our hotel only offers pizza and panini. So we went back to the smaller Trattoria and luckily we were seated right away this time. Keep note that you need to take off your shoes or slippers when you step inside their restaurant. We didn’t mind this. We were so excited with the aroma of the pizzas as they were taken one by one out of the big brick oven. We tried their Pizza Margherita , our all time favorite, and the following days we also tried their Prosciutto Crudo. During late afternoon, the smaller Trattoria near our hotel doesn’t have much crowd so we decided to keep dining here. We were very much satisfied with the taste and the servings of their pizzas. Price per pizza ranges from 310 Php to 400 Php. The staff were also great and they easily recognized us by the second time we dined. Overall, we had a great experience here and would recommend it.
