Kalanggaman is one of the most beautiful islands we have visited.

It is located in Palompon, Leyte. We went to Kalanggaman as a side trip during a visit to Ormoc City. We took a flight from Manila to Tacloban then rode a van going to Ormoc.

How to Get There:

You can reach Palompon via Tacloban or Ormoc City riding public vans in just 2-3 hours.

Fare:

Tacloban to Palompon - about 160 Php
Ormoc to Palompon - about 120 Php

Get off at the Palompon wet market and just walk a few meters going to the Palompon Tourism Office- the yellow building near the port. Best to call them ahead of time to schedule your trip so you can be advised of the weather and boat schedule.

Palompon Tourism Office Tel Nos: 053 555 9731, 0926 816 4005

They have different rates for locals and foreigners, for day tour and overnight.

Day Tour Rates:
•International Tourists – P500
• Non- Palompon Local Tourists – P150
• Non- Palampon College Student Tourists – P40

Boat fees are on top of your registration fees. Since there were only two of us traveling to the island, the tourism office was kind enough to include us in a bigger group so we didnt need to pay for the whole boat.

There are no restaurants or resorts in the island so dont forget to buy everything you need for your stay including water but please don't leave any trash in the island! Check out the video of our awesome day at the island - perfect weather, clear blue waters, and of course, beautiful sand bars on both sides of the island- the perfect getaway with your loved one!
